Configuring Interaction with PACS

The application can send studies to a PACS server for long-term storage and retrieve them
Interaction is carried out using DICOMweb (the standard for accessing studies via WEB protocols) and DICOM (classic TCP services: C-FIND, C-GET, C-MOVE)
VIDAR 3 is recommended as the PACS server

Configuring DICOMweb Connection

Select the configuration type DICOMweb
When editing an existing DICOMweb configuration, the type will already be selected and cannot be changed
Specify the server URL where DICOMweb is installed and configured
To verify the input, there is a Test Connection button
If the address is specified correctly, a message with the text "Connection established" will appear
Otherwise, a message with the text "Connection failed" and additional information will appear

Attention! For the connection test to work correctly, there must be studies on the server

For different PACS, the DICOMweb server URL may differ

Example addresses for standard PACS settings:

VIDAR
http://192.168.128.10/dicom/dicomweb/
ORTHANC
http://192.168.128.10:8042/dicom-web/
DCM4CHEE
http://192.168.128.10:8080/dcm4chee-arc/aets/DCM4CHEE/rs/

Supported Functions

Specify the functions supported by the selected PACS
QIDO-RS is responsible for importing studies from PACS. If this function is disabled, the application will not offer this PACS for import
STOW-RS is responsible for sending studies to PACS
If this function is disabled, the application will not offer this PACS for export

Additional Parameters

Clicking the Authentication Parameters button opens a window for selecting and configuring the authentication method, if this PACS implements such functionality
The parameter http-header VidarSourceAET determines the application's AETitle when communicating with the PACS
This header is sent to the server
Simultaneously, the http-header VidarPacsAET is sent
The checkbox Use multipart-related for STOW-RS controls the format for sending studies (export) to PACS
If enabled, the study is sent in a special format used by most modern PACS
When disabled, the study is sent directly
It is recommended to enable this option

Configuring DICOM Connection

Select the configuration type Classic DICOM
When editing an existing TCP configuration, the type will already be selected and cannot be changed
Fill in the remaining fields:

Supported Functions

Specify the functions supported by the selected PACS.
DICOM CStore is responsible for sending studies to PACS
If this function is disabled, the application will not offer this PACS for export
Full communication setup may require additional configuration of the PACS server
QueryRetrieve is responsible for importing studies
If this function is disabled, the application will not offer this PACS for import
Specify the AETitle for Query requests
This is the name the application will use when contacting the PACS
Specify the preferred method for Retrieve requests (retrieving a study)
Possible options: C-GET/C-MOVE (if C-GET is unsuccessful, the application will automatically choose C-MOVE), only C-GET, and only C-MOVE
Specify if the PACS supports Modality Worklist
If this function is disabled, the application will not offer this PACS for Modality Worklist
Also specify the encoding used by MWL
Specify if the PACS supports MPPS
If this function is enabled, then after completing a study, the task will be removed from the task list
Consult with the network administrator and PACS system administrator if difficulties arise in configuring the connection
