Ground Glass Program, Simple Analysis

Launching the Ground Glass Program

• Drag a series of a chest study in "lung" window from the Preview Bar onto the screen
• Click the "Programs" button , and then click the "Ground Glass" button

• A sensitivity threshold settings window will appear:

  

  • Set the minimum threshold value in the range from -700 to -900 HU
  • If necessary, set the maximum threshold as well
  • Lung tissue not involved in the process is outlined in green by default
    If there is a need to fill it with a solid color - click the checkbox next to the "Highlight lung tissue with color" item
  • The value of -1000 HU is taken as air, i.e., the larger the number in the minimum threshold, the more "sensitive" ground glass will be included in the calculation
  • Click the OK button

If you need to switch to advanced analysis - left-click the "Advanced analysis" button

• The screen will split into 2 panels: native and resulting ("color") series
  In the resulting series:
  • unchanged lung parenchyma is outlined or colored green
  • areas of the "ground-glass" type are colored red
  • unaccounted consolidation areas and pleural effusion will remain gray
• Above the panels, a window with measurement results appears:



• Data from the window can be copied to any document by clicking the button

Verifying Automatic Calculation

• Close the calculation results text window by clicking the "Close" button
• Scroll through the images, comparing the native and resulting series
• If necessary, correct the study report text

Delayed Export of Calculation Results to Document

After closing the calculation results text window, it can also be copied and pasted into the study report
The series with the calculation results text is automatically saved in the study
In the Preview Bar, its thumbnail is located at the bottom of the study

• Click the "More" button in the lower right corner of the document thumbnail in the Preview Bar
• Click the "Copy to clipboard" item
