The Virtual Bronchoscopy software is designed for viewing the lumens of 1st-3rd order bronchi in endoscopic mode of computed tomography
Launching the "Virtual Bronchoscopy" Software
Drag a chest study series in "lung" window from the Preview Bar onto the screen
Click on the "Programs" button in the Tool Panel, the "Studies" group
Click on the "Virtual Bronchoscopy" button
The screen will split into 4 panels:
three - standard, orthogonal MPR
one - endoscopic mode (endo-mode)
Controlling Camera Movement in Endo-Mode
Using the Mouse
The mouse cursor indicates the camera direction
Scrolling the mouse wheel moves the camera forward/backward
The speed of movement corresponds to the speed of rotation of the wheel
To move slowly through the lumen using the mouse wheel, hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard
Clicking any mouse button stops the camera movement
Rotating the mouse causes the camera to rotate inside the tracheal or bronchial lumen
Pressing both mouse buttons and rotating the mouse stops the camera and allows for rotation inside the tracheal or bronchial lumen
Using the Keyboard
More precise (but slower) camera movements are performed using the arrow keys
The Up / Down arrows allow forward/backward movement
The Right / Left arrows allow rotating the camera in the horizontal plane
Displaying Camera Movement on MPR Views
The default mode is "Alignment By Volume" (the button in the series header)
In this mode, the views do not change their orientation but are scrolled through
A 3D cursor and an arrow indicate the camera position and its direction
The "Alignment By Camera" button in the series header rotates the MPR views along the camera's trajectory
By switching these buttons, you can accurately determine the position of the camera using the 3D cursor and, therefore, the pathological process
Saving the Resulting Series
Click the button in the series header, or click the "Virtual Bronchoscopy" button in the series header and then select "Save Resulting Series" from the dropdown menu
A dialog box will appear
Click the down arrow and then select an item from the list to choose to save the entire screen or only the 3D model (endo-mode)
Click the OK button
The saved series will be located in the Preview Bar at the bottom of the other series
Playing Back the Resulting Series
Drag the resulting series onto the screen
Click the "Video" button in the "Processing" Block - "Scroll" group of the Tool Panel
Exiting the "Virtual Bronchoscopy" Software
Click the "Virtual Bronchoscopy" button in the program header
